The spirit of the adolescent student is orientated toward becoming a citizen of their world. Studies, in order to be meaningful, must be immersive. At the heart of a true Montessori adolescent program is a praxis project. Traditionally, this was the Erdkinder situated on a farm. In our urban context, the natural translation is a business or creative enterprise of some kind. This year, our students will learn to program, run and promote an internet radio station called The Queen Voice. We beginning broadcasting every Wednesday at 10 am on September 29th!
THE QUEEN VOICE
Welcome to the Orchard Lyceum’s internet radio home. Students are responsible for developing, producing and delivering radio content. The station will serve a variety of live broadcast and pre-recorded programming as it is developed by the students of the school. Some things we cover include the local news, weird world happenings, the weather, mock ads, debates, musical performances and interviews with local Queen West personalities. Please also tune in each week for HC Dickson, a completely student-produced radio drama!
