Emily Saunders

Emily received her BFA Honours in Dance at York University, focusing her final year’s Senior Project on Creative Movement for Children. In addition, she received her teacher training in Limon dance from Donna Krasnow in 2014. She has taught modern, jazz, ballet and yoga in both a studio and school setting for a diverse range of backgrounds and ages. Emily has choreographed and performed for both film and stage since forming her collective Kinima Dance. Performances as an independent artist in the past have included as a community dancer with Kaeja D’dance, Nuit Blanche 2015 with Anandam Dancetheatre and CoexisDance’s duet series. Emily continues to train focusing on contemporary techniques including Gaga. 

Emily is also a trained Casa and Elementary Montessori Directress. She teaches with Melody at the Orchard Montessori School. Emily teaches limon-based dance classes at Orchard Lyceum on Tuesdays afternoons for children aged 7-10 years.
