The Creative Uncommon Camp

A summer experience like no other for kids aged 9-13 years. So much more than camp, The Creative Uncommon is a series of immersive, small group art and culinary experiences in The Lyceum Gallery under the guidance of The Lyceum’s Director Holly and Chef/Artist Sam. Join us as we explore the city in search of the stories, ingredients and recipes from different culinary traditions. Then spend some time in the studio building skills and creating work for a group gallery show at the end of the summer. Holly and Sam combine their experience from an array of artistic disciplines including:

culinary arts – graphic narrative, sequential art and manga – drawing fundamentals – foraging – gardening – botanical studies – ink making – cyanotype printing – collage and assemblage – creative writing – felting – film camera experiments

Want to join? Email us at holly@theorchardmontessori.com

Each day, students will receive cooking lessons (with lunch of course!) as well as formal art instruction and interdisciplinary studio time. We will throw in a healthy measure of time outside to explore and record the city’s gardens, built environments and wild spaces. The Creative Uncommon hours are 9.30-3.30

Before and aftercare is available upon request.
